GATES BEATS WEAVER 7-6
Written by Administrator

Congratulations!  Gates U11 defeated Weaver U11 for the first time in a bone-crushing, ground-ball, hogging overtime win.And once again the "first-timers" out hustled a way to win with a "500 lb. anchor dropping in three-feet of water"  goal by Ryan B. for our first sudden death win over Weaver.  Offensive adrenaline provided by Niles A.  and concrete defense by Josh C. in goal, helped solidify the win. All players are commended for their hard-work, discipline and ability to play lacrosse, even with Coach Brink screaming on the sidelines. Most of our players have at least another year at U11.

Can you imagine them in Two years?

Improvement(adv.)- To enhance in value or quality and to make progress in what is desirable.

One, Two, Three...GATES LACROSSE!

Last Basketball Equipment Turn-in before bills go out!
Written by Tommy Sizemore

The last Basketball equipment turn-in will be April 11th from 6 -7 p.m.  After this date, bills will be sent out to coaches and parents for the equipment that is missing.  As an example, a coach that does not turn in a bag of balls will be billed $300.00 and parents will be billed $75.00 for each uniform not returned.  Please get the word out and get all this equipment back in so that it can be used next year.  This will help keep the cost of programs down so that all of our children can participate.

Gates Cheering Excels At CCL Spectacular
Written by David Wilmer

The Gates Cheering program had an outstanding day of competition at the Chesterfied Cheerleading League annual Spectacular at Virginia State University on November 2, 2008.

Gates Cheer

Results

Gates Minors - 2nd Place

Gates Juniors - 3rd Place

Gates Seniors - 4th Place

This was a huge competition and for our girls to place was absolutely incredible.  They all did a spectacular job and represented Gates in a flawless fashion.  Judging was tough and we felt like all our girls deserved first place given the outstanding way they all performed.  Given these results, Gates will be a force to contend with during next years CCL Spectacular competition; at all levels!

If anyone has pictures the would like to have posted, please shot me an e-mail and i will get them uploaded for all to enjoy.
