2025 Fall Softball


Gates Athletic Association Softball Information


Chesterfield Youth Softball Association, Inc. (CYSA) is one of the largest youth softball organizations in the state of Virginia. More than 1,300 girls participated in leagues beginning at age 5 and continuing until age 18.


Practice: Each team is allocated weekly practice time subject to availability. During the preseason (month of August), the teams practice at Gates Elementary, or other nearby baseball fields with two (2) practices per week being typical. Practice during the season is at the discretion of the coaches.


Coach and Kid Pitch : The "8 and Under" league is a combination of Coach Pitch
and Player Pitch. All other leagues are exclusively player pitch.

Free Agent Policy: Children who play for an association other than the one affiliated with the elementary school boundary in which they live are considered free agents and must be "released" by their home association in order to play elsewhere. Children who live within the Gates Elementary School attendance boundaries will only be released to play for another association if we are unable to place them on a team. Should this occur, players who request to play for another association will be released according to the request date.

Black pants and black belt recommended for ages 10U and up, purchased independently.

All players will need to provide own batting helmet with face mask and socks (color of socks to be determined by Coach).

$125 For New Players
$100 for returning players that need jersey item
$80 for returning players who don't need uniforms or any additional items

Fundrasing

To keep costs low and provide end-of-year parties, fundraising is necessary.

If you prefer not to participate, an opt-out of $50.00 applies, which can be completed at registration.
